An Update On Owen

We just received an update on our little Owen, including some great photographs that show he is really growing. As of June 18, he is 18.5 pounds and 26 inches long, which is quite plump and healthy. (We have heard from other adoptive families that the foster mothers in Seoul intentionally try to fatten up the babies before sending them off in the world. Clearly, Owen's foster mother is doing a good job!)

Since getting our referral last month, we have found ourselves in a flurry of activity as we prepare for Owen's arrival this fall. We have turned our guest bedroom upside down and are in the process of making it his room, but I feel like it'll be a miracle if this ever happens! It's a challenge to sort and organize and clean with Jane and Caroline around, but they have found some quality entertainment in playing with their old baby toys which I've gotten out for Owen. (I'm sure that won't last, but I'll take it for the time being.) So often I stand in the room that will soon be his and wonder about our baby boy, wishing he were with us right now. The wait is tough, but we are upbeat and excited.

The time is already flying. Almost one month down of waiting. Two (or three?) to go...
